Ingram St - Tasmanian Oak Flooring

Tasmanian Oak is a very popular timber around Remurea and because of the lighter colouring it very popular to do in water based polyurethane. In the case of this floor in Remurea the customers had added to their house and the timber was sourced and installed by a contractor they had organized. Now normally we at Nufloors would do the install however in this case it was done long before we even quoted the floor so we didn't have to worry about it.

So my little team of men went in and started the sanding process. I discovered that the floor by the kitchen which had been modified hade a nasty black water mark at the end of it and it looked bad. I tried to sand it out with no joy. With the customers away over seas on holiday I had no option but to email photos and carry on with getting the floor coated.

As luck would have it the customer rang me back and we discussed the out come of his floor. It was decided that I would put one coat on and wait for his return to decide where to from here. It was the customers decision to have that part replace and the floor re sanded to get it flat. Nufloors was asked to do the repairs and in this case we declined.

WHAT. That's right. Now let's talk about floor repairs. Now lots of builders, floor sanders and timber installers can do any thing from a bad job to a great job. We are very good but the guy that did this one stiched the timber in with perfection and I strongly recommended that this outstanding gentleman complete the job. I am first to put my hand up for someone who is outstanding at their job and this guy is.

So with the floor repaired Nufloors got back in and once the repaired areas was sanded flat, it took no time at all to sand the one coat of poly off the floor. With three coats of two pack water based polyurethane on the floor this Tasmanian Oak floor in Remurea was completed and looking brand new again.
