Beach rd, North Shore. . New rimu timber flooring

A few years back new Zealand was hit with a cyclone which went further south that expected, it blew down a protected forest in the south island. After long discussion only 5 per cent of the rimu timber was allowed to be removed. Now nz has new supply of new rimu flooring, this is where nufloorsnz comes in.

We were called into a multi million dollar home with a difference, the concrete slab was very badly out of level, the original builders we kicked off site and they wanted their new timber flooring installed before Christmas.

As a flooring specialists auckland company, we asked if we could help, yes 3 weeks to go to Christmas. We first we will blog about the timber Installation. With no timing and my team was already booked out I started pulling some strings.
My timber installer was able to be coaxed to do this job 4 days before Xmas, but that was not all we needed a team of guys to get the timber upstairs, why ? Firstly the timber flooring was left outside in the Auckland weather for 5 days under a tarp before I found it on this job.. too late the timber flooring had swelled.

Secondary the particle board floor upstairs was still 20mm out of level, so my trusty head floor sander and I rushed over on a Sunday and completed our magic, leveled this floor.

Now all the ducks were lining for the timber Installation job, so with two guys on a bench saw opening up the grove, another guy on the drop saw docking the individual floorboards this job was moving a long while my main floor sanding team was on a 1200 meter tawa hall floor.
Christmas day was looming and by some miracle we got 120 meters on new rimu timber flooring installed with 2 hours to go to know off.. beer time. We'll done.

BUT there is more another 30 meters in the downstairs entrance to be installed over concrete, we will be returning on the 5th of January to grid the concrete, level as its still 10mm out of level, apply two coats of vapor barrier epoxy and install the remaining timber flooring on Saturday.
Once the jib stoppers, painters, electricians, etc have finished we will be back to complete the floor sanding Auckland process
