Orakei Rd - Tasmanian Oak Flooring

This Tasmanian Oak floor was certainly in need of a major re sand but before I talk about this job. What is Tasmanian Oak? Tasmanian Oak flooring is a combination of three Eucalypt species commonly found in Tasmania. Mixed Together they produce a blend of beautiful colouring from pale cream to pink and reddish-brown. Thank you Google. So there you go. Tasmanian Oak is in fact a Eucalyptus tree. Who would have thought.

Now that we have all learned something new. Now the timber flooring. A major makeover. So as a floor sander I started doing most of this job by myself before the boss came over to give me a hand. Now for a couple of old boys we made short work of the timber floors. By days end we had most of the floor sanding cut out.

The next day saw me back in there but this time armed with all available minions (floor sanders of course) going hard on the stairs. Two sets of stairs with one set been over twenty. So it was a whole day of finishing off the stairs and floor before the floor was finally coated with the sealer coat. Leaving the minions to put on the second coat i shot of to help ready a big hall we were going to re coat.
The next day saw us prep it for its final coat. So this badly damaged floor had its new makeover to complete this Tasmanian Oak hardwood floor for the customer to enjoy.

The floor was coated using Handley Industry's products with Low Sheen solvent based polyurethane as a finishing coat
