Auckland Floor Sanders off to Waiheke Island

It was an early morning when some key players of the Nufloors 4 U Team set out on their hikoi to the beautiful Waiheke Island. Although they werent too happy about the early morning start this lack of excitement soon melted away as the sun started to rise whilst travelling over from Half Moon Bay.

The weather that met them was beautiful and Hugh decided that he would send a quick picture or two of the view from the job just to brighten my day.

I wasn’t jealous at all, although I quickly reminded him to get back on the job as the floors were inside not out. Sanding the Tasmanian Oak floor was hard work in the heat and with the ocean view calling, but the guys hung in there. The big machine was soon out and the final prep on the beautiful solid wood floors completed for the first coat of water based polyurethane on the second day.

Our Island hosts were very hospitable, providing the Nufloors flooring team with two bedroom accommodation and good food after a hard day’s work.

Tuesday saw the team have a tour of the island in between polyurethane coats and the third and final coat was completed early evening. Wednesday morning the floor was signed off with another satisfied customer to add to the list. It was now time to head home on the ferry and work on sanding and polishing another wooden floor in the Auckland area.
