The Wharf is the Restaurant on the North Shore that one everyone sees but not everyone has been to. As you go over the Harbour Bridge heading north you will see the Restaurant on your left hand side. The Wharf Resturant

After a wedding that involved the breaking of many plates the wooden floors at the restaurant required a new coat to fix the damage to the parquetry flooring. NufloorsNz Floor Sanding Auckland was asked if we could fit this in over the new year period. As they needed to close down for us, Of course we were able to fit it in for them. The existing heringbone Parquetry was in good condition so a reglaze option was chosen.
Firstly the timber flooring was washed thoroughly the day before we arrived, Next NufloorsNz prepared the surface by discing the old polyurethane thoroughly with 120 grit. and a good vacuum.

The parquetry flooring was coated with a solvent based low sheen finish first to allow for the first coat to stick to the previous coat and to stop any reactions coming through from oils. The floor then got a second coat over it with a high build gloss. A very straight forward job for Nufloors to do. There was three floors on three different levels.

The first coat was low sheen and the second coat was a high build gloss in solvent based polyurethane supplied by Handley Industries.
