Maretai timber flooring

Nufloors has stated numerous times throughout our website that our floor sanders have been floor sanding just about anywhere. Maretai is certainly no different. What was the best part of this job? The view from his deck could be considered just too much. Especially since it was so hot. The water looked beautiful.

So when you take the time to look at your wooden flooring you might think that we can't make it look good because there might be two different types of hardwood timber floors.

 During our Maretai floor sanding job we discovered that the owners lounge solid wood floor consisted of three different types of hardwood flooring. Rimu, Tawa and Pine. Note that the customer was happy with the rimu and tawa but not the pine floorboards.

Now here one needs to ask our floor sander. How do we fix this problem?. Now there are two ways we could tackle this problem.

1. Rip up the pine floor and relay a native timber flooring which in the case would have to be rimu or

2. We stain it.

Now because it already had two coats of varnish on it the best approach was to add a rimu stain to the varnish and problem solved. With a last coat over the whole floor the job looked great. The job consisted of two bedrooms and a lounge done in a low sheen solvent based polyurethane varnish.
