In practice at a Samoan Church in Mangere the were the Laughing Samoans. No not really. Though I myself would have like nothing more than to see those funny characters in action Eteuati Ete and Tofiga Fepulea'i I had to settle for bunch of less trained misfits that managed to keep the team at Nufloors floor sanding entertained.
So while the church hall was a big job, with sixty square meters of cork to uplift and nearly four hundred square meters of particleboard to sand and polish this did indeed turn out to be one of the better jobs. Let's face it, really, Dining can be only as good as the company one keeps. Well, in this case the job was only made that much better by the banter of half a dozen laughing joking Samoans.
The cork flooring uplift was a straight forward affair with the hire of a bad ass jack hammer which had the cork flooring up in no time. Now has we have now learned we started at 8am in the morning and finish around 4.89 pms. I know. Right, we were starting to learn island time. But the cork tiles was up by 12.79 pms and the concrete grinding was under way till knock off time at appointed 4.89pms. I must at this point say that while all this was happening we had a big machine floor sanding the main hall.
The next day the concrete grinding was completed and we started laying the new cork flooring. This procedure took us through to the end of the day where our Samoan friends kicked us out for the night. I think I should point out at this time that in true island fashion they made stop at lunch time where we par took in taro and other Samoan dishes. Every day these bunch of misfits gave us a hard time and likewise we gave it back. Throughout this job it was that sort of banter that makes it all worthwhile.
The Following day the cork flooring was sanded re for the polyurethane, Shortly afterward the floor sanding Auckland misfits finished the main hall and the whole job was ready for coating. 3 coats of a commercial solvent base systems was in order and the job was complete photos in our Gallery
