Timber Species - existing Matai Timber flooring
Scope of work - rough sand, trowel fill then fine sand - Apply walnut stain
Finish - 3 coats of Solvent based finish low sheen

Matai Timber Flooring stained - La Veta Ave, Mt Albert This 80 square meters of matai flooring was in major need of a makeover and Nufloors Floor Sanding Auckland was the company to do this job. The floor required us to do some small timber repairs before we could get underway with the sanding process.
Once the timber floor repairs was completed it was into it with a 24 grit paper on our machines to sand of the old shellac. No easy task for our team. However they finally got the floor clean and the process from there was much easier for them to complete.
The customer wanted to have the floor stained and as staining a New Zealand native could not be done with a oil the best solution for this Matai floor was a solvent based stain. Now as Nufloors Floor Sanding auckland specializes in this area it was no problem to get the floor readying for the stain.
With all floor sanders on deck we got the floor to a high level of finish than the stain was applied by our experienced team members. With the stain now on it was starting to look perfect. Once dry we applied a coat of gloss polyurethane with some of the stain added to the polyurethane in a special mix. Now it's looking great. From there it was all pretty much over.
The stain that we used was a solvent based stain and was walnut. The last coat was a low sheen solvent based polyurethane finish supplied by Handley's Industry
