January Working In The Heat

The week of the 5th saw the floor sanders on two jobs in Auckland, the main floor sanders were still on the solid hardwood flooring at Papakura community hall, finally the were onto the medium cuts as there was 12 coats of poly that had to be removed, slow hard process, but they got there, the other floor sanding team was onto 90 meters of cork tile refurbishment. Actually I got roped into this job, back on the floor again.

The week of the 12th Back to Papakura, the line maker worked over the weekend so we could apply the final coats onto this 740 meters of solid timber flooring, Team 2 was floor sanding a water base job in te atatu, also we were one floor sander down now so the team was back to 3, we are now advertising for a new floor sander to join our team.

The week of the 19th Our Floor Sanding team is on a heritage project, restoring two old army barracks in Takapuna, 240 meters of old solid hardwood flooring, the timber flooring was previously covered with an old vinyl, with a large hole in one of the barracks, so the biulders were installing wooden floors them selves, yeh righ. The Job also required the rest of the solid wood flooring to be grinded with diamond blades first to remove the old glue, yep fun in the heat of the day.

The week of the 26th Still the timber floor installers had not yet completed repairs to the army barracks so change of plan, our professional floor sanders had two smallish jobs to complete, both in waterbase, both in west auckland 3 day week so time for some fishing
