Parquet Kitchen

This week the Nufloors Auckland Floorsanding Team were provided with a parquet challenge which we of course accepted.   A customer had an existing parquet dinning/kitchen area.  Not only was she relocating her kitchen to another room but she wanted the new room to have parquet laid to match the existing dinning area.  As we all know, parquet is pricey and knowing this she decided to invest in expanding her parquet area rather than removing it and putting in new flooring..... So the first thing we did was..... 

Level the floor of the new room including the generous size pantry.  Oh did I mention the view from the new kitchen.. priceless! an uninteruppted view of the ocean out in Rothesay Bay, Auckland. So back to leveling and then left to dry before floor sanding and floor laying (once the parquetry arrive).  Day one no parquetry... Day two no parquetry... Day three the parquetry arrived yay!.. So back to the address Hugh and the Nufloors Auckland floor sanders went (actually it was Hugh and I on this day).  Up and down the stairs I went, lugging gear and trying to look like I was actually assisting Hugh.. only for him to say "Im not happy with this levelling, it needs another coat".  Of course we felt bad for the customer who was so looking forward to having her floor laid but my inside voice was also saying "Please dont tell me I have to take all these things back down the stairs again".  We didnt have to as she was more than happy to wait another day and have the job done right.  So Hugh re coated the floor with floor levelling compound and we went on our merry way to see a few more potential customers.  The next the Nufloors Auckland floor laying team (in this case Hugh and the team) were back on site... no mucking around today... the floor was laid perfectly.   Yes and the next day we sanded and finally applied our polyurethane coats.  As you can see from the photos, the finish was amazing, as I am sure the kitchen will also be when installed.  The dinning room with the jarrah featured parquet came up beautifully.  Another happy customer and certainly another job well done by our Nufloors Auckland floor sanding team.
