Kwila wooden flooring . Now it's been a very long time since I have sanded kwila. So, what springs to mind when we mention kwila. Decking. And you would be right in saying that if that was your answer. A reddish hardwood that looks absolutely brilliant as a finishing for your deck. But in this case I'm talking about a wooden floor inside a house. Well a town house in Epsom . So this is for the customer whose job I did in MARETAI if you remember reading that blog. Now this three story town house was getting a big refit and the floors were part of the process.

So the wood flooring had a dark stain on it which also included the stairs. This was not going to be fun. Stain can be very hard to get completely of the floor so this jobs requirements meant a lot of work and a lot of floor sanding. We spent two days doing this job. I spent my time sanding and finishing the main timber floor which I did by myself while my trusty little floor sander minion battled it out with the stairs. Poor bugger. With countless hours of sanding and scraping and then more sanding and scraping he finally got it done.

The job as a whole came up really nice and with just clear coats of varnish on it, it gave the floor a beautiful finish to our job. So with three coats of solvent based polyurethane with a low sheen finish the job was done. Photos here Sb Manukau rd

As you can see this beautiful kwila flooring was buried under some dark stain, and white over spray from the painter, the kwila flooring was in need of a professional floor sanding company, so the client called Nufloors flooring Auckland for the rescue.
